The Scissortail Children's Theatre was founded in Shawnee, Oklahoma by Laura and David Byland with the help of Teresa and Brad Burnett, in 2011.  Laura is an award-winning Designer and Director and founded the Theatre for Young Audiences at Oklahoma Baptist University, directing nearly thirty productions over a twenty year period.  Laura has degrees in Education and Theatre and has worked in the classroom as well as in professional theatre productions.  She is currently an Associate Professor of Theatre at Samford University teaching lighting design and children's theatre classes.

SCTC is currently reorganizing and will be relocating to Birmingham, Alabama.  We will be sure to let you know when we are helping young imaginations take flight once again!
